Central Presbyterian Church is a caring, inquiring, inclusive community of faith where everyone is welcome. We look forward to getting to know you! Below is some basic information we hope will help you know us a little bit, as well.
What we Believe
We are a Reformed, progressive Christian church connected to the Presbyterian Church (USA). If you want to learn more about what all of that means, click here.
How We Serve
What to Expect at Worship
We offer a morning worship service every Sunday at 10 am that typically lasts about an hour. The service is usually held in the Sanctuary. Sometimes we hold worship in our Chapel. Happily, they are right across the hall from each other, so it isn’t hard to find the service either way! We value a variety of music, but are most often accompanied by our organ. The church choir sings at most services during the school year.
One of the most asked questions we get is, “What should I wear to worship?” This is Eugene, and the variety of outfits in our church reflect the variety of styles in our fair city. Some folks like to dress up; others prefer blue jeans and sandals. You’re encouraged to wear the clothes that are most comfortable for you.
If you are unable to attend in person, know that we also live stream our services each week at our Vimeo site. If you aren’t able to join in live, you can view services later there as well.
For more information about worship check out this page.
Location
We are located at 555 East 15th, in the heart of the West University Neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon, on the SW corner of 15th & Patterson. Visit our maps/directions page for more details.
Parking
The main parking lot is on the north side of the building. You can enter from 14th (between Ferry and Patterson) or use the alley access from Ferry Street. There is additional parking in the alley lot (accessed from Ferry Street) and on the street on 15th Street. Visit our maps and directions page for more details.
What about Children and Youth?
All ages are welcome in worship. There is a children’s worship area in the Sanctuary with activities available to keep little hands busy as they absorb the prayers and music of the worship space. To learn more about other opportunities for young people, visit our Christian Discipleship page.
Childcare
Again, all ages are welcome in worship. However, childcare for kids from birth through preschool-age is available during Sunday morning worship services if you would like to make use of it. The childcare room is located across the hall from the sanctuary on the west end of the building.
Sunday School
During the school year we offer Sunday school for school-aged children following the time with children in worship (around 10:20). Children and their teachers proceed to the Chapel for a short time of gathering and then move into the Fellowship Hall for Sunday school. Family members can re-connect with kids in the Fellowship Hall at the coffee hour following worship.
Learning isn’t just for kids! There are many Bible study and adult education opportunities for all ages (0-110!) that rotate throughout the year. You can learn more about those on our Christian Discipleship page.
